There are two variables, gender and mood disorder. The genders are, of course, male or female. The mood disorder variable is either present or not-present. Epidemiological data suggests that mood disorders are more prevalent in women than in men. I need to perform a statistical analysis that shows the incidence of mood disorders in men and women, whether the observed relationship between the presence/absence of a mood disorder is statistically significant, and give an estimate of the effect size of the relationship. I have no idea what test is appropriate! Please help!!!!
What statistical test is appropriate?ms stress
Stats with dictomous independent and dependent variables requires a chi-square test. A simple measure of effect size is the Odds Ratio.
